St. Augustine Fall Art and Crafts Festival

Once again, the St. Augustine Art and Crafts Festival will be held at the end of November, on the weekend following Thanksgiving. By tradition, it is held at Francis Field at 29 West Castillo Drive, in St. Augustine. In an effort to boost the local economy in the United States’ oldest city, the St. Augustine Art Association is offering their premier outdoor art fair. It generally attracts thousands of holiday shoppers, visitors, and art lovers to the same location.

With over 150 artists participating, there is sure to be something for everyone including jewelry, glassware, photography, drawing, sculpture, woodwork, fiber art, graphics, paintings, and more. Many people wait all year to do their holiday shopping at this amazing art festival.

Along with the huge variety of crafts and arts, holiday shoppers can find a wide array of international foods, live music, wine and beer, as well as a kid’s art zone. Just a single dollar donation at the gate is all that is needed to be entered in a drawing that awards restaurant tickets, area attractions entrances, artwork, and specialty gifts. Of course, there is all-day parking in the historic parking garage for just one dollar (if you have a PARK NOW card).

The St. Augustine Art and Craft Festival is an annual event put on by the nonprofit St. Augustine Art Association that was founded back in 1924. Since then, it has strived to promote local artists and their craftsmanship. All of the proceeds from the entire festival remain in the local community and help to benefit a variety of art exhibits, education, and extensive outreach programs.

This year’s entertainment will include two days of live music by well-known local performers. The music can be enjoyed on the Gamble Rogers Full Festival Entertainment Stage.

In the historic village, spectators, art lovers, and holiday shoppers can view weaving, spinning, rug hooking, and basket-making. Every day, many of the local colonial artisans will demonstrate their techniques for textile-making from years gone by.

The St. Augustine Art Association – Arts Center is known for continually supporting and featuring original local art. On display is the special Francis Drake’s raid (of 1586) archaeology exhibit.

The Florida Historic Coast, which includes Ponte Vedra, the beaches, and St. Augustine is like no other along the coastline. With century-old churches, forts, and buildings that hearken back to yesteryear, it is easy to step back in time while strolling through this old, quaint town. With all the amenities there is something for every member of the family to do.
